Pregnancy Solutions Launches Free Well-Woman Visits to Expand Care Before, During, and Beyond Pregnancy

Akron, OH – Beginning this month, Pregnancy Solutions is expanding its services to include free Well-Woman Visits for women ages 21 and up, offering Pap smears, breast exams, STI testing, and preventive screenings—all at no cost.
This new initiative reflects a bold commitment to serve women before pregnancy begins, ensuring they have access to early detection and personalized health education in a safe, compassionate environment. The expansion is made possible through a partnership with the Ohio Department of Health’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Project.
“Being pro-life means honoring the life and dignity of every woman—whether or not she’s pregnant,” said Tameka Hale, Executive Director of Pregnancy Solutions. “By offering routine wellness care, we build relationships and trust early—so women know where to turn when they need support most.”
The addition of Well-Woman Visits positions Pregnancy Solutions as a full-spectrum provider of women’s health care—before, during, and beyond pregnancy. All services are free, confidential, and rooted in the organization’s mission to provide whole-person care to underserved women across Summit County and surrounding areas.
Tameka Hale, who has led Pregnancy Solutions since late 2022, is a passionate advocate for women’s health and wellness. Her personal experience as a survivor of pre-cancerous fibroids and breast cancer as a young mom highlights the need for expansion into these vital services. Tameka knows firsthand the impact that early detection can have to save lives. Her journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery in both her 30s and 40s has inspired Pregnancy Solutions to make a difference in the lives of underinsured and impoverished mothers with limited access to care.
“I’ve walked through the uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, and I understand how crucial it is to have early screenings and access to the right resources,” said Hale. “We are deeply committed to offering women the support they need to stay informed and proactive about their health. The addition of these screenings is part of our ongoing mission to empower women, not just during pregnancy, but throughout their entire lives.”
Appointments are now available on Mondays at Pregnancy Solutions’ Akron location. Eligible clients will receive personalized care from a certified nurse midwife, along with follow-up resources and referrals when needed. The program specifically focuses on serving women with limited access to insurance or regular care, reinforcing Pregnancy Solutions’ role as a trusted provider for vulnerable and at-risk populations.
